Suaradpr.com – Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam (HMI) MPO Cabang Jakarta Raya menuntut Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat (DPR) RI bertanggung jawab penuh atas tragedi kemanusiaan yang terjadi dalam aksi demonstrasi di Jakarta dan sejumlah daerah.
Ketua HMI MPO Jakarta Raya, M. Jufri Rumaratu, menegaskan DPR tidak bisa hanya berdiam diri dan mencuci tangan. Pasalnya, aksi yang berujung pada korban luka hingga meninggalnya seorang pengemudi ojek online yang terlindas kendaraan taktis polisi, merupakan konsekuensi dari kebijakan politik yang lahir dari lembaga legislatif.
“DPR sebagai representasi rakyat seharusnya menjawab persoalan yang disuarakan mahasiswa dan masyarakat, bukan malah lempar tanggung jawab dan kabur ke luar negeri,” tegas Jufri dalam keterangan pers, Sabtu (30/8/2025).
Menurut HMI MPO Jakarta Raya, tindakan represif aparat saat membubarkan aksi menjadi bukti nyata kegagalan DPR dalam merespons tuntutan rakyat. Alih-alih menghadirkan solusi, DPR justru membiarkan konflik di lapangan terjadi.
“Kami tidak ingin DPR hanya jadi penonton. Harus ada sikap tegas, tanggung jawab moral, dan langkah konkret untuk menghentikan praktik kekerasan terhadap rakyat. Jangan lari ke luar negeri seolah cari aman, sementara rakyat berhadapan dengan aparat,” tambah Jufri.
HMI MPO juga mengingatkan bahwa demokrasi tidak boleh mati di tangan para wakil rakyat. Mereka berkomitmen akan terus mengawal isu ini hingga DPR benar-benar hadir sebagai pengayom, bukan sekadar simbol politik belaka.
